Sarathi 2009: Saraswati Puja
Saraswati Puja was held in National Games Village (NGV) campus, on the courtyard adjoining the NGV Builder's Club, Koramangala.
How can Saraswati Puja be complete without songs and music!! That's why we've started from this year an evening cultural program on the day of Saraswati Puja.
The main attraction of the evening was a performance by Anupam Roy, an engineer by profession but also a lyricist and composer of dazzling originality and exciting promise. His songs combine youthful emotions with sophisticated poetic imagery, and Indian melodic base with western chord progressions, to create a new flavor in contemporary Bengali music. He performed with his band comprising of Arun Das on drums, Sandeep Mitra on keyboards, Priyam Mukherjee on bass and vocals & Anupam Roy on vocals & acoustic guitar.
People who had come on time for the Bhoomi show on Kali Puja in 2008 would have seen them performing just before Bhoomi took the stage. Soumitra, the drummer of Bhoomi, was so impressed with their performance that he accompanied them on drums for all the songs.
